Konafa Cups

  • 2 cups cream (divided)
  • 300 g cream cheese – softened
  • ¾ cup icing sugar
  • 1 pack Sunbulah Kunafa Dough (thawed)
  • 6 tbsp. butter
  • 3 tbsp. pistachio, chopped
  • Sugar syrup with rosewater

Products Used

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C 
  2. Beat 1 cup of cream until its firm.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and the other cup of cream with a hand mixer for a minute.
  4. Add prepared cream and mix.
  5. Refrigerate, until ready to serve. 6.  Melt butter in a small saucepan.
  6. Place kunafa into a muffin tin cup to form a nest shape.
  7. Repeat, until you have 6 kunafa nests in a muffin pan.
  8. Evenly pour butter over kunafa nests.
  9. Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. While the kunafa is still hot, pour 2 tablespoons of the sugar syrup over each nest. Allow to cool in the tin.
  11. Transfer kunafa nests onto a wire rack over a plate, to remove the excess butter and sugar syrup
  12. When ready to serve, divide the cream cheese mix evenly into the kunafa nests.
  13. Top with crushed pistachios
  14. Serve cool and enjoy!
